Miles Today: 13.1

Mile Marker: 1,917.4

I remember when I started telling people about my plans for this adventure.  Almost everyone said “You're going to do what now?”  Each time I would calmly explain I was going to walk from Georgia to Maine while internally evaluating my sanity every time I said it.  Well the day has come. I've officially walked FROM GEORGIA TO MAINE!!!  Still 272.4 miles of hard work left, but I'll get there.

I made it through Mahoosuc Notch today.  I heard from the SlOwBOs it should take about three hours, but all of my NOBO people said it took them two.  It took me an hour and a half.  Not because I'm a faster hiker or anything; I didn't want to get rained on while going through that nonsense.  I didn't take any breaks and focused on moving as fast as safely possible.  I still got rained on the last half hour, but thankfully I was through the roughest stuff.  It was almost all rock climbing with large, sketchy gaps below.  Definitely wore me out today.
